McCORMACK, MARY DOREEN - It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen McCormack of Fredericton announce her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in Saint John, NB, on October 29, 1926, she was the wife of the late Richard McCormack. Doreen leaves behind her sons, Bruce (Crista) of Fredericton and Donald (Linda) McCormack of Sackville; grandchildren, Jordan, Dustin, Jana, Jeffrey and Ross McCormack; great-grandchildren, and sister, Bea Manning of Oshawa, ON. In addition to her husband, Richard, Doreen was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary (Sproul) Ross and brother George (Pat) Ross. Doreen enjoyed many years of employment with NBTA and the time spent at crafts with Retired Teachers. She was an active member of Wilmot United Church and enjoyed the fellowship with her many close friends. Doreen was strong and true to her family and spent many hours cheering for her children and grandchildren on the basketball court, football field and hockey rinks. She was a cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Wilmot United Church on Wednesday, July 4 at 2 pm with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery following the reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doreen's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
