Rena Maude Bell, 83, Bridgewater, N.S., passed away peacefully March 8, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at Ryan Hall, Bridgewater, N.S. Born in Wellington, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Herman and Isabel (Morrison) Ferguson. Rena moved to Bridgewater in 1950. She was a member of the Bridgewater United Church and had been an active member of the UCW Unit 7. She was an active participant in the VON Adult Day Program, always looking forward to the program friendship and activities. She was a proud retiree of the Bridgewater Bulletin. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, baking and the annualvisit of her two grandchildren.She is survived by daughter Christine (husband Tim Richardson) of Riverport, N.S.; son William (wife Francis), and their two children Nicole and Stephen of Wabush, Labrador; sister Mildred Barlow, Wellington, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert; sisters Ethel Thompson and Mae Clark and infant brother Ivan. A memorial service was held in Bridgewater on March 11. Internment will be at the Peoples Cemetery, Summerside, on July 9 at 11 a.m., Rev. Andrew Richardson officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers Rena requested donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Fund (www.heartandstroke.ns.ca).
