William 'Bill' Angus MacIsaac

It is with deepest sorrow that we, the family, announce the passing of William Angus ‘Bill’ MacIsaac on July 8, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 7, 1950, he was the son of the late John Bernard and Gina (Campbell) MacIsaac of Inverness.
Bill had a tireless work ethic, taking great pride in a job well done. From an early age, he worked a number of jobs in order to help support his family. A welder by trade, Bill worked for Sydney Steel, Atlantic Springs, Clearwater Seafoods Ltd., and Kelly Rock Ltd. over the span of his 30 year career.
He eventually formed his own welding and fabrication companies of which he was very proud.
Bill was active throughout his life, playing a variety of organized sports in his younger years and maintaining a healthy lifestyle until the onset of his illness in 2011. Ever the protector, he has always looked out for family, friends, and those most in need. Bill was a strong and selfless man with a generous heart, who valued family above all else.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Josephine (Flis) MacIsaac; his beloved children, son, Christopher (Krista), Toronto, and daughter, Katie, Antigonish; brothers, Peter (Janet), Johnny, Jimmy (Emily), Michael (Mary), Danny (Lucy), Paul, Robert (Vivian); sisters, Donna (Greg), Martha (Ken), Gerry (Gary), Cathy and Mary; sister-in-law, Valerie Davidson; mother-in-law, Mary Flis and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by sister-in-law, Marlie MacIsaac and a very special nephew, Matthew Davidson, who was like a son to him.
We would like to thank Dr. Boutilier, Dr. Archibald, Drs. Pahil and Jensen and the staff of the Cape Breton Cancer Center; Drs. Ritter, Dentino and Dugas and all of the nurses with the Palliative Care team; the VON nurses involved in Bill’s care at home; the wonderful staff of the An Cala unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, who took such good care of Bill and his family during his stay. Finally, we would like to thank our extended family and friends who provided unwavering support throughout Bill's illness and during his final days.
There will be no visitation, by Bill’s request. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 11, at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church. The Rev. Norman MacPhee will be officiating. Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
