JULIEN, Thomas Joseph “Tom” – Of Hebron, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Porters Lake, Halifax Co., passed away on July 8, 2012, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born June 17, 1934 in Porters Lake, he was the 10th of 12 children of the late Daniel and Agnes (LaPierre) Julien. He was named after his grandfather Thomas Joseph Julien. Thomas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and avid outdoorsman who loved woodworking. He also enjoyed canoeing and hunting with his brother-in-law and best friend Larry Trask. Thomas worked at the Halifax Shipyard as a shipwright prior to his 35 years at Maritime TelTel as a central office technician .Thomas is survived by loving wife, Barbara (Trask) Julien; daughter, Carrie-Lynn (Tom) Ackles; sisters, Olive Julian, Evangeline Doucette, Theresa Doucette, Marian Jordan, Geraldine (Luke) Manette, Helen (Felix) Roma; grandchildren, Chantel and Devon. He is predeceased by sisters, Florence Wilson and Evelyn Byrne; brothers, Alfred, Anslem and Kenneth. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place one hour prior to funeral time in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service was held Thursday, July 12 at 2 p.m from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery. Donations in Thomas’s memory may be made to the Dialysis Unit at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital or charity of your choice.
