With deep regret, we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Arthur Lee Jackson on Jan. 3, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Brent (Kelly), Toronto, and Scott (Alleysha), New Waterford; daughter, Michelle (James) Doucette, Glace Bay; grandson, Riley; brother, Jimmy (Peggy), Hopewell, N.S.; sister-in-law, Sandra Simm; treasured friends, Alex Lee, Reg Blunden, Butch Feldman, John Jewells and Ivan Ellsworth; numerous other relatives and friends.
Art was a son of the late James Albert and Nora (Lee) Jackson.
He worked as a stationary engineer for the Glace Bay Hospital; was a driver for R&M and Jerry’s Taxi; was a former member of the Glace Bay Kinsmen Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing ‘Bish.’
Cremation has taken place. Funeral services for Art will be conducted in Curry Funeral Chapel, 775 Main St., Glace Bay, this Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. A reception will follow in St. John’s parish hall.
Donations in Art’s memory are suggested to the SPCA or charity of choice.
