DORTMAN March 20th 1919 - July 3rd 2008 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Caroline Dortman of Vernon, B.C. after a lengthy illness. Caroline leaves behind her son Ken (Lynda) of Kamloops, sisters, Adele Dove of Calgary and Karen Netherland of Summit, Mississippi, grandchildren, Deena, Leanne, Cathy, Jeanette, Cory, Tammy, Ashley, and Rachel, and four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Caroline was predeceased by her Husband John Dortman, and Son Randy Dortman. Caroline was born in Leask, Saskatchewan in 1919. She married her husband John after the war. The two lived in Saskatchewan up until 1955 when they moved to Riondel, B.C. and raised their family. After retirement John and Caroline moved to Wynndel, B.C. then onto Vernon, B.C. where they resided for the past 19 years. Caroline was a devoted homemaker and avid gardener. We will all miss her touch. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the loving care given so willingly by Caroline's Caregiver Virginia Calvert, and the staff and nurses at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. A celebration of Caroline's life will be held on a later date.
