BAKER, GERALD JOHN - The death of Gerald John Baker of Fredericton, NB, husband of Lois (Miller) Baker occurred peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 15th, 2012. Born in Undine, NB, on July 25th, 1927, he was the son of the late John Fitzgerald and Celia Jane (Hitchcock) Baker. Gerald was retired from the Department of Transportation with the Province of New Brunswick and was a member of the Guild of St. Joseph's. Gerald is survived by his wife Lois, two sons, Michael and John (Shirley) Baker all of Fredericton, NB; two daughters, Joyce Baker (Charles Laplante) of Gatineau, PQ and Carol Ferguson (Allan) of Petrolia, ON; five grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Melissa Baker, Paul Ferguson, Miriam Ferguson and Geneviève Laplante.
The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, NB, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 19th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Christ Church Cathedral with The Very Rev. Keith Joyce officiating. The Hiram Lodge #6 F&AM will hold a tribute service at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:45 PM. A private family interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
