LEBLANC, Anne Marie (née Deveau) – of Wedgeport, passed away peacefully at Villa St. Joseph du Lac, Dayton on Sunday July 8, 2012 at the age of 98. She was born in Meteghan on June 27, 1914. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Barbara), Dieppe, N.B., and Peter (Lisette), Fredericton, N.B.; grandsons, Ian (Abril), Vancouver, B.C., and Marc-André, Moncton, N.B.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Percy; her parents, Joe and Evangeline Deveau; brothers, Joseph, Bernard, Stanis, Octave; her sisters, Juliana, Elise, Béatrice, Marguerite, Imelda, and Catherine. Anne Marie enjoyed travelling, and went on more than a dozen organized trips in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. She also enjoyed bowling, quilting, and playing bridge with her friends. In the later years she enjoyed her weekly activities at the Senior Citizens Club. Special thanks to the residents at Wedgehaven Apartments, the staff at Cottage Celeste,and the Villa St. Joseph du Lac for their compassion and assistance in helping her through her journey in the past eight years. A special thanks to Dr. David Webster for his compassion and wise counsel to her and her family during the past four years, and in particular in the past several months. His guidance allowed Anne Marie to pass with dignity and peacefully and provided comfort to the family. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes Ltd., Wedgeport. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 in the funeral home in Wedgeport, with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass was held at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 23 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Donations in Anne’s memory may be made to Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation.
