EARL (Harold) Emil Messmer 1926 - 2008 Dad chose a beautiful Saturday evening to pass away at Royal Inland Hospital Saturday, July 19, 2008. Earl was born the 3rd of 4 children on May 23, 1926 to Ernest and Teresa Messmer in Barrhead, Alberta. Earl is predeceased by his parents, two brothers Victor and Herb, sister in law Elaine and daughter in law Corinne. He is survived by wife Marie of 55 years, and children Mitchell (Patty), Dean (Nikki), Arlen (Lorraine), Andrea (Jeff) and Linda. Survived also by his sister Bea Henderson of Kelowna, BC; sisters in law include Irene Messmer, Kamloops, BC, Sharon (Michael Pease), Kamloops and Mae McConnell, 70 Mile House, BC; brothers in law include Stallard (Marion) McConnell, Ashcroft, BC and Arlen (Sylvia) McConnell, Coquitlam, BC. Earl's loving grandchildren include Ayren, Amber, Nicholas, Sidney and Branden, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and their children residing in Alberta, BC, Yukon territory, South Carolina, California and Ohio, USA. Earl was a WWII veteran serving overseas on the Aircraft Carrier HMCS Warrior. After WWII he then came back to Kamloops and went on to log in 70 Mile House for several years where he met his wife Marie. Earl had various businesses with his two brothers, namely Northsyde Service, West End Motors, Metro Sand and Gravel and affiliate Tri Lake Ready Mix. As dad never liked to talk about himself and always put everyone's interest above his own. He was a wonderful loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. Dad will be missed greatly in everyone's daily life. The door was always open for a visit. Dad was one of a kind, easy to talk with, always supportive, could take a joke, could give a joke, loved to laugh, humor to the last moment. A reflection of Grandpa
