Louise (Witty) Crosby (nee MacKenzie)

Aged 99 years, Charlottetown, P.E.I., passed away July 16, 2012 at Whisperwood Villa, St. Peters Rd.
Born in Long Creek, P.E.I., in 1912, she was the daughter of Alexander and Caroline (Compton) MacKenzie. Following school graduation she entered training at the P.E.I. Hospital and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1934. She practiced nursing for many years in various locations (Charlottetown, Sydney, N.S., Sherbrooke, N.S.) as she moved with her family, retiring in Charlottetown in 1978. Mom loved to travel and visited several places in both North America and Europe. She was a talented quilter and made many beautiful quilts that her family treasure. She was an active member of the P.E.I. School of Nursing Alumni and a member for many years of Trinity United Church in Charlottetown.
Surviving are her son, David (Marjorie) Crosby, Chatham, ON; daughter, Caron (Dennis) Earle, Dartmouth, N.S.; grandchildren, Shauna (Richard) Wilkinson, Leamington, ON; Wade (Rechel) Crosby, Chatham, ON; James Crosby, (Remy Hicks), Windsor, ON; David Earle (Jenn Harrie), Fall River, N.S.; Alexis Prendergast (Carey), Calgary, AB; three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Louise was predeceased by brothers, James, Earl, Oliver, William, Freeman, Alexander (Sandy) and Norman; sisters, Margaret Dalton and Florence Livingstone.
Visitation will be held at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home on Friday, July 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday with funeral service from Canoe Cove Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
