Lieu de décès : Colombie Britannique, Canada

RON PORATH May 25, 1946 - July 21, 2008 Intelligent, quiet, hard working, loving family man With tears in our eyes and a painful hole in our hearts we announce the passing of Ronald (Ron) Jack Porath. Beloved husband of Lissa (Middleton) loving father of Aaron and Meghan and missed by brother Merv (Marion) of Vancouver, BC. He will be remembered by many family relatives and friends. Ron worked for the city of Kamloops for 28 years starting in the office, moving to a pipe fitter position and finally as a water mechanic. He was very proud of his ticket designation on water systems. He never stopped working even in retirement. He was very active in the Westsyde High School Planning Council, band and worked hard to ensure continuing bursaries thru the Kamloops Foundation. Ron always had projects on the go. He was interested especially antiques-never did get that 63 Catalina on the road. Too many family priorities and helping others got in the way. Ron's favorite place was Camp Grafton on Shuswap Lake. He had many years of volunteering at the camp, help to build the kitchen/hall, to upgrading and running the water system. His most prized accomplishment fundraising and non stop working to help build the underground tunnel to provide sale access to the lake for the children. But by far he was most dedicated to his family. He was proud of his children Aaron and Meghan's accomplishments in sports, music, drama, and academic achievements. He received a lot of pleasure, entertainment and long walks from his four footed friend Callie, his Springer Spaniel. Our family would like to express a special thanks to sister and brother in-law Chris and Al Zackodnik for all their continual support these past 8 weeks. Friends, Monty, Claire, Al, Tricia, Paul, Michelle, and Johnny. A very special thank you from Lissa to Gayle Combes and Holly Judd. Also to all her staff friends in ACU for their on going support and to Dr. Mavis Hollman for her excellent and compassionate care of Ron. Ron always said our life was like a book, with each page turned a new chapter began and a new experience started. We have enjoyed every page. It is with extreme sadness and a heavy heart we have come to the final chapter, a 6 month courageous battle with a brain tumor. Memorial Service to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Kamloops Foundation C/O Kirsten McDougall, Box 15, Kamloops, BC V2C 5K3. BC Cancer Foundation, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5L3. Kamloops Hospice, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9. As we close the final page of the book I leave you Ron saying I LOVE YOU more than anything. I'll see you in heaven
