Peacefully, with her family at her side, at the Whisperwood Villa on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 of Mrs. Katherine Elizabeth McQuaid (nee McIntyre) of Bedford, age 91 years.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph McQuaid and dear mother of Frank (Emma), Pat Bain, Mary Gill, Kathy (Allan) Christensen, Dave (Agi), Jim (Lisa Cheverie), Sheila (Ron) Derouin, Joanne (Barry) Schieck and Mike (Stella Arsenault). Loving Nanny to 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Paul (Beryl, dec.) McIntyre; sister-in-law, Imelda McQuaid; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary (Donald) Robison; sons-in-law, George Gill and Frank "Wuz" Bain.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Saturday morning, then transferred to St. Bonaventure Church, Tracadie, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I.
