SCANSEN, Rita - August 3, 1933 - July 16, 2012. It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a great lady, our mother. Rita was full of life and touched the hearts of many people. Her love of people was evident all through out her life in the various jobs she worked. She was a very strong and independent woman who was not afraid to voice her opinion. Her never give up attitude brought her through many difficult times in her life, a trait she passed on to all her children. Her love of music gave her many good times socializing with her friends and family. She loved to dance and sing. She lived life to the fullest and never let anything stop her. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She leaves behind a sister, five children, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren to carry on her zest for life. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and one grandchild. At her request, no funeral will be held. In her words "Don't mourn my death, have a party and celebrate my life for I am in a better place. Hakuna Matata." We will have a celebration of her life on Saturday, September 29, 2012.
