It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Todd MacKenzie age 53 of Glace Bay. Todd passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.
Born in Glace Bay, Todd was the son of Catherine (MacDonald) and the late Alexander MacKenzie. He was a former member of Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay. Todd was employed with Cape Breton Island Housing. He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Todd will be sadly missed by his loving mother, Catherine MacDonald; common-law partner, Charmaine Howie, Glace Bay, her family, especially her daughter, Shannon. Also left to mourn are his daughters, April, Kayla; son, Todd, all of New Waterford; brother, Blennie, Glace Bay; sisters, Delores (Donnie) Brophie, Sydney, Sylvia (Stanley) MacSween, Ont., Diane (Neil) Clark, Ont. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his father, Todd was predeceased by his sister, Lorna Burns.
In honouring Todd’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s/Holy Family Cemetery.
Donations in Todd’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
