Greenhill - John Robert “J.R.” Anderson, age 49, of Greenhill. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle and friend on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of John and Shirley (Gratto) Anderson. He was a member of the Scotch Hill-Lyons Brooks 4H Club; member of the West River Presbyterian Church, Durham; shareholder of Scotsburn CO Op Services; past Director of N.S.A.B.; member of the N.S. Federation of Agriculture; member of Holstein Canada; Breeder of Registered Holstein and Ayrshire’s. J.R. lived a happy and simple life on “the hill” where he worked side by side with his father as a dairy farmer at Andview Farms. Retiring from dairy farming in 2010, he began his journey in travel, experiencing love and enjoying each moment to its fullest alongside his soul mate Heather. Besides his parents, he is survived by Heather; sisters: Mary Ann (Richard), Toronto; Donna, Ottawa; brothers: James (Dawn), Lantz; Mark (Kathryn), New Glasgow; Gordon, Red Deer; aunt: Bessie (Lloyd), Goshen; nieces and nephews: Lesley, Logan, Michelle, Beth, Sandy, Adam and Kate; Heather’s sons: Frank (Jodi), Mathew, Devon; Heather’s grandson Kalem. Heather and J.R. wish to give thanks to Dr. Farrell, the Palliative Care team and the V.O.N. nurses who were an incredible support throughout our journey. Cremation has taken place.
