It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrude Reid of St. John’s announce her peaceful death on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the age of 86. Predeceased by her husbands: Maxwell Kennedy and John (Jack) Reid; sisters: Cora, Florence, Frances and Mildred; as well grandchildren: Paula, Terry and Donny. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters: Marie Hicks, Carol (Charles) Browne, Marilyn (Tone) Hayes and Jacqueline Reid; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; special niece Barb and special friends Debra Craig and Joanie Owens. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of family and friends. The family also wish to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre. Cremation has taken place. No visitation. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
