In Loving Memory of JACK RAYMOND HAYWOOD February 8, 1930 ~ September 20, 2008 After a courageous battle with cancer, Jack went to the "Big Round Up in the Sky." Jack will be greatly missed by his loving wife Georgina, his children Linda (Marvin) Higgins, Michael (Carol), Barbara (Marvin) Lingelbach, and Penny (Chub) Robillard; step-children Jacki, Herbert and Sherry; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, sister Nora (Robert) Turner, brother Eric (Lorraine) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary Haywood and daughter Darlene. Jack was born and grew up in Kamloops. In his younger years he worked in ranching and spent many days chasing wild horses on Pavilion Mountain. As time went on, Jack drove truck and spent many days on the road and later drove an Ore Truck for Highland Valley Copper until he retired at the age of 68. Jacks family was very important to him and he enjoyed a full life going to or watching the rodeo on TV, golfing with his friends and square dancing, which was where he met Georgina. They were married at St. Johns Strawberry Hill United Church in Surrey. He also enjoyed travelling to many places in Canada and the US to Square Dance. At the time of his passing his family was present at his side. Jacks family would like to thank Dr. J.F. Howe and Dr. Mavis Hollman and the wonderful, caring staff at the Hospice. A Celebration of Jacks Life will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Mount Paul United Church, 140 Laburnum St., with Reverend Drake Boyd officiating.
