RITA MAY SMITH Rita passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Royal Inland Hospital. Rita was born to Ken and Edna Mansfield on January 2, 1951 in Princeton, British Columbia. Rita will be deeply missed by her loving husband Tim, son Chad, daughter Hayley (Chadd), granddaughter Mylah and the many friends who loved her dearly. Always a caring and loving mom and granny, Rita will be remembered for her witty remarks, sense of humor and her ability to be supportive and understanding in times of need. Some of our fondest memories of mom include her crafty adventures. From the hand made Christmas Eve ornaments she made every year to her beautifully sewed creations. She was never short of an idea that would include everyone around her and create a sense of family. Rita liked to relax by doing her crossword puzzles or reading her Hollywood gossip magazines. When Rita and Tim weren’t traveling, you could either find her on the Fraser River pretending to like sturgeon fishing with her husband or at home arguing who was a bigger granddaughter baby hog between the two of them. Rita lived to make her family happy, and she succeeded over and over again. Rita was a special person who brought the best out in all around her. Rita will be deeply missed as no one can replace her in the hearts of those who loved her. Our thanks go to the staff at R.I.H. for taking good care of her in her final days.
