JAMES JIM POW 1938 ~ 2008 James Jim Pow of Kamloops passed away on November 1st, 2008 at 69 years of age. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret, children Colin (Carol) Pow of Maple Ridge, BC and Richard (Yvonne) Pow of Smithers; grandchildren Dylan, Chaylene, Starlene, Moriah, Hannah, and Autumn; sister Marguerite Unger and brother Brian Pow; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Heather Abshire, parents Frank and Daisy Pow, sister Janet, and brother Norman. Jim was born in Kelowna, BC and moved to Nesbitt, Manitoba at a very young age. At the age of 18 he joined the Canadian Air Force where he served 10 years. After he finished his service, he moved his family back to Salmon Arm, BC. Jim farmed for many years and also worked in the Real Estate Market. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Margaret, and resided in Salmon Arm, moving to the Lower Mainland in 1984. In 1996, they moved to Logan Lake and recently resided in Kamloops. Jim worked for BC Transit and Farwest Coach as a Transit Operator up until his retirement in June 2007. After his retirement, Jim spent many hours playing his favourite card games, Poker and Bridge. As well, he spent many enjoyable hours on the golf course. There will be no formal ceremony at Jim’s request, however donations in Jim’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 203-635 Victoria St., Kamloops, BC, V2C 2B3, if friends so desire.
