ALEXANDRA MARY ANDERSON July 4, 1920 - November 4, 2008 Known to all as Alec, our feisty little 88-year-old Celtic Lassie, Loving wife and 60-year partner to Dave -- and mother to all -- passed away peacefully on November 4, 2008. True to her selfless character, even after suffering her own medical crisis, she was most concerned about those she loved right through her final hours. An only child, born in Vancouver, BC on July 4, 1920 to Alexander and Mary (McCrae) Munro, Alec thrived in the company of other students in the academic environment and became a teacher through the Normal-School system. In one of her early teaching posts in the Brookmere, BC she met Dave and they were married in 1948. Her educating focus quickly shifted to installing a love of learning and inquiring in her four children while still keeping her hand in part-time substitute work. Alec and Dave together also farmed large, working poultry and sheep operations while rearing their children.
