GEORGE WHITE October 18, 1926 - December 26, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George White. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as siblings Jack, Lily, Doreen, Ruth and Jacquelinne, and survived by his niece Carla Magrigal. George was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, the youngest child in the family. He had a great love of birds and animals. George’s father worked for the Dept. of Indian Affairs and as a young boy he also lived in The Pas, Manitoba and in Courtney, B.C. George left home for Essondale shortly after his father’s death in 1954. He moved to Woodlands and then to Tranquille in 1963. In 1984 he moved to Seven Views Ranch and then to Notok Ranch, until moving to Springridge Group Home 14 years ago. During his years at Springridge, George volunteered his time to deliver Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed recycling, attended Ponderosa Day Services and lovingly tended to his cats Sadie and Georgie Girl. George will be dearly missed by his housemates Jennifer, Marion and Alan, as well as the staff who cared and supported him. Special thanks to the Doctors and staff of I.C.U. and 6 South at R.I.H. In lieu of flowers, donations to the local S.P.C.A. would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held for George on January 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Schoenings Funeral Home, 513 Seymour St., Kamloops.
