Lieu de décès : Colombie Britannique, Canada

On Thursday, February 5, 2009 Walter "Bud" Harris Evans passed away peacefully at the age of 80 years old surrounded by his family. Bud will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gladys of 60 years, sons Grant (Karma), Mark (Barbie), Cory and daughters Wanda (Dean) and Faith (Brian) and daughter-in-law Linda Leonard. Also left to cherish his memory are his thirteen grandchildren Jason, Jennifer, Micheal, Shawn, Christal, Rylan, Aaron, Jaret, Brandyn, Taylor, Brett, Trent, Chad and three great grandchildren. Bud was born on January 24, 1929 in Wadena, Saskatchewan to Walter and Marion Evans, the oldest of five children brother Ron, sister Audrey and was predeceased by his younger brother Marvin and an infant brother. Bud grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba and there he found his passion for hockey. From there moved to Brandon where he played for the Brandon Wheat Kings and also met his wife Gladys. Hockey then gave Bud and Gladys the opportunity to live in many places such as St. Catherines, overseas in London, England, Edmonton, Kelowna, Penticton and then finally settling in Kamloops. He continued playing and coaching hockey while raising his family. Bud spent many hours volunteering his time at the arena and was always willing to go out of his way to pick up any youngster who needed a ride to a 6:00 A.M. practice. His love and passion for the game was apparent, bringing home provincial titles and two Coy Cup championships as a player/coach. Bud was a proud member of the IBEW since 1957 and thoroughly enjoyed his job in the electrical trade. Dad was a kind and gentle man who was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. Dad lived his life with generosity and had a warm open heart to anyone that came into our family home. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, from the hockey arena to watching dance recitals or just spending time enjoying family backyard barb-b-ques around the pool. Dad had quick wit and a sense of humour that will be misssed, and always left saying, "I love you". "KEEP YOUR STICK ON THE ICE" we're all pulling for you We will miss you Dad and Papa, and send our love with you .The family would like to offer a special thanks to all the staff at Pine Grove Care Centre for their loving care of our Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Alzheimer Society of BC at 543 B Battle Street, P.O. Box 277, Kamloops, BC. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at The Calvary Community Church, 1205 Rogers Way, Kamloops, 250-374-2888.
