Michael Stewart. Michael died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on February 12, 2009. Mike was born on September 12, 1956 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his parents Frank and Ellen, his daughter Megan, sisters Teryl and Linda, and niece Shawna. He was a loving father, son, and brother as well as a devoted friend to all who knew Mike. A natural athlete he excelled in hockey, curling and golf and expressed his love of sports through his work with Special Olympics Canada. Mike recently moved back to Victoria in February 2008 after living many years in Kamloops.
