GERMAINE (Gerri) SCOTT (Latkowski) nee Bernier ; June 14, 1931 - February 08, 2009 ;Gerri was born in Perigord, Sask. the youngest child of Edward and Fabiola Bernier. She married Kasey Latkowski in the early 1950's and moved to B.C. a couple of years later. Settling in the Golden area after time at Donald Stn., Creston and Lister. The family separated in 1969 and Gerri moved to Vancouver, where she worked in the hospitality industry. She met and married John Scott in the 1970's and remained in Vancouver until John passed away in 1999. She then made her way to Vernon via Sorrento and settled there. An illness forced her into Noric House Extended Care Home in Feb.02, where she resided until her passing. During her stay there she made many friends and received superior care from the incredible staff at Noric. They took her under their wings and let her teach them how to do their jobs properly... It was a great comfort to Gerri's family to know that she was being looked after by caring, compassionate people. Gerri was predeceased by her youngest son Kelly Latkowski in 2004. She leaves to mourn her eldest son Wayne (Tracy) Bernier, daughter Linda Mondoux, her daughter-in-law Brenda Latkowski, as well as eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Grieving her passing also are her siblings Gracia Mathieu of Kelvington, Sask, Al Bernier of Kamloops B.C., Rachel Thompson of Golden, B.C., Ida Patenaude of Kelvington, Sask. Gerri was predeceased by her sister Irene Pelletier of Perigord, Sask. in 1998. Also mourning are numerous nieces and nephews. No service at this time but a memorial is planned for the summer of 2009
