At Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge on Thursday, January 7, 2010, of John Docherty, of Cardigan, age 73 years.
Loving father of Brenda MacLean (Lawrence), Mary O'Donnell (Ken), Elinor MacAulay (Harold) and foster son, Blair Campbell. John is also survived by grandchildren, Larry, Olivia, Travis and Ben MacLean, Rae Outhouse, Ryan and Annie MacInnis and Kenneth O'Donnell; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Ann MacLeod, Grace Martin (Billy) and Joreen Gay.
He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel Docherty (nee Nicholson); infant son, Kenneth William Docherty; his parents, John W. and Earla (nee Penny) Docherty; and his sister, Ruth Singleton.
A private funeral service was held at Hillsboro Funeral Home. Interment followed at Polly Cemetery, Point Prim.
