Egon Gross, born July 21, 1936 in Kulm, Bessarabia, immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1953 with his family and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops at the age 73.
He will be remembered by his son Richard Gross (Morgan) of Cochrane; his brothers Otto (Ursula) of Bow Island, Helmut (Shirley) of Lethbridge, Erich (Toni) of Medicine Hat and brother-in-law Albert Vogt (Wilma) of Germany. Egon is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his Dad (Gotthilf) in 1998 and Mom (Pauline) in 2009, sisters Wilma (1982), Lilli (1945), brothers Willi (1945), Arnold (1946) and nephew Frank K. (2001).
Egon was a painter by trade, a good carpenter and worked in the housing construction industry and ran painting and drywall crews for many years. He also helped his family with their home repairs and upgrades. Egon was an avid outdoorsman and spent a lot of his time over the years in the Kamloops area hunting & fishing with his friends and especially John and the times they spent at his hunting cabin, he loved it dearly.
Those wishing to pay their respects by viewing may do so on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street.
