SOMERTON, Gerald (Jake) – Passed peacefully away at the L. A. Miller Centre on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, age 77 years. Predeceased by his wife Marie (nee Murphy), 2008 and brother Robert. Left with fond and loving memories, children: Jim (Dianna), Keith, Debbie Humphries (Randy), Paula Whalen, Paul (Ellen), Barb (Dave) and Sandy (Fabian); grandchildren: Angie, Kim, Jimmy, Cyndi, Sarah, Matthew, Joshua, Christopher, Bryan, Dianna, Jonathon and Michael; great-grandchildren: Joey, Rebecca, Nathan, Nicholas and Mackenzie; sister-in-law Marie Somerton, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre and to family doctor, Dr. K. Patel. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service on Sunday, January 10, at 1 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
