Shirley Derksen (nee Goldsmith) of Kamloops passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2012 at the age of 65. Survived by her loving husband Jake, their sons Everett (Hanna) of Iqualuit, Nunavut, Nathan (Mandy) of Trail, B.C., and daughter Danielle of Stony Plain, AB. Also left to cherish her memory are nine grandchildren, her dog Okilak, her sister Wendy and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Shirley is predeceased by her parents.

Shirley was born in Kelowna and raised in the Lower Mainland. Shirley and Jake married in 1965, and after making a few stops, settled their family in Kamloops in 1988. Shirley was well known for her arts and crafts. She enjoyed RVing and touring the Blue Grass festivals with Jake. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Shirley will be held on August 11th, 2012 at The Hamlets of Westsyde at 1:00 p.m. (3225 Overlander Drive, Kamloops, B.C.)
