STELLARTON – Agnes Margaret Mason, age 88 of the Valley View Villa, Riverton and formerly of St. Joseph St., Lourdes, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born on January 21st, 1924 in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late John Nelson and Catherine (MacKenzie) Mason.
Agnes was a lifelong resident of Lourdes. She was a retired employee with Maritime Tel & Tel where she was a supervisor training switchboard operators. She was a member of the Aliant Telephone Pioneers. Agnes was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving is her loving sister, Marie Robeson, Merigomish (Valley View Villa); a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers: Bernard, Frank, Norbert and Leonard; sisters: Stella, Anna MacGillivray, Kathleen Gratto and a sister in infancy.
The family will receive visitors in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton, for visitation from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Agnes may be made to the CNIB, the Diabetic Association or Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
