MCARTHUR, GEORGE JORDAN April 24, 1925 March 7, 2009 ;Dad passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife of 57 years, Lajwanti, by his side. He is now reunited with his parents and siblings. He is survived by his wife Laj, daughter Ritu Marrs (Chris), sons Raman (Ruchi), Ranjan (Diane), Xuan (Thuy), many grandchildren here and numerous relatives in India. Immigrating to Canada in 1965 with his young family, he worked for the Province of BC as a court reporter and retired as a senior clerk in the Government Agent's Office in Kamloops. He was a musician and athlete who shared his love of both with his family. His ever present sense of humour was apparent even in his last days. He will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at St. John's Heritage Church, Glen Cairn Lane, Victoria, BC, on Saturday, March 14th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideons International, Canadian Bible Society or the Red Cross
