JARRETT JOHNSON MARCH 4, 1924 - MARCH 11, 2009 On March 11, 2009 Jarrett Johnson passed away peacefully at home at the age of 85. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy. His children, Mel (Heather), Ann (Randy), & Susan (Andy). His grandchildren, Steven (Leah), Craig, Rebecca (Trevor), Danny, Matthew (Christine). His great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Madison, Lucas & Danica. Jarrett was born and raised in Burton, B.C. After spending two years in the Air Force at the end of WWII, he returned to Burton and married his sweetheart in 1947. They raised their family in Burton and in 1965 they moved to Kamloops, where he worked for BC Interior Sawmills which became Weyerhaeuser. He retired in 1987 and that's when Mom & Dad took up horseshoes, golfing and camping, which took them to almost every golf course in B.C. They were members of the Chase Golf Club for over 20 years. In the last few years Dad amazed everyone with his ability to create intricate three dimensional wooden ornaments in spite of his battle with macular degeneration. He refused to be blind. Dad was a true example of how a strong will and determination will get you through life's challenges. We invite you to join us in celebrating Dad's life on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC. Should friends desire, donations to the C.N.I.B., 1929 Bayview Ave., Toronto, Ontario, M4G 3E8 or BC Lung Assoc., P.O. Box 34009 Stn D., Vancouver, BC, V6J 9Z9, in memory of Jarrett Johnson would be appreciated.
