William “Bill” Arthur, LT(N), CD, RCN (Ret’d) Davey

79, Halifax, passed away at home in the early hours of August 2, 2012. Born Feb 20, 1933 in Charlottetown, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Henry and Florence (McInnis) Davey. Bill joined the RCN in 1949 and served in a number of naval ships and shore establishments and loved his life in the Navy. Upon retirement he became involved with tax preparation and for a number of years volunteered his time with the Canada Revenue Agency. He was a member of the N.S Naval Officers Association and the Canadian Naval Memorial Trust. He was a long time member of St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church where he was a founding member of Knights of Columbus Council #8666 (4th degree). Bill is survived by wife, Heather Fraser-Davey; sister, Sandra (Vernon) Murray; brothers, John (Lorna) and Donald (Kathy), many nieces, nephews, and their children and sister-in –law, Gail Evonic. Cremation has taken place, no visitation by request. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Stephen’s Church, 6032 Normandy Drive, Halifax, on Tuesday, August 7 at 10 am. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Naval Memorial Trust, HMCS Sackville, PO Box 99000 Station Force, Halifax, NS B3K 5Y5 or a charity of choice.
