KAREN LEE ELLIS (CHAMBERLAND) March 23, 1956 - March 23, 2009 Karen left us way to soon, after a courageous battle with kidney disease, complicated by numerous strokes. She is survived by her mother Marjorie Critchlow, sister Shirley Chamberland and nephew Mylan Chamberland all of Penticton, brother Dave Chamberland of Kelowna, also Bob and Tracy Chamberland of Kamloops, Josh Smith of Calgary and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Karen was predeceased by her father Roland Chamberland in 1987. Born March 23, 1956 in Quesnel, in her youth Karen was passionate in several different pursuits, such as gymnastics and track and field. She moved to Kamloops at a young age, graduating from NorKam, "Class of 74". Karen found her way into the banking profession, working her way up the ladder to a supervisor position. For over 25 years she worked for C.I.B.C. until health issues altered her life path. She also had a passion for cooking. When strokes took that away, she still loved to watch the Food Network and talk recipes. Karen kept getting knocked down, getting back up, forcing a smile and never stopped dreaming-Baby. A Celebration of Karen's Life will be held at 5300 Sunrise Drive (Barnhartvale) on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Friends and family are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 210-635 Victoria St., Kamloops, BC, V2C 2B3 or the Kidney Foundation, 200-4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC, V5G 4K6 in memory of Karen Ellis would be appreciated.
