WILLIAM (Bill) RAND. December 7th, 1916 - March 23rd, 2009.William (Bill) Rand, passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at age 92. He leaves behind his son Mervin, Grandchildren: Lory Rand, Sheryl (Fred) Buxton, Bill Rand (Maria), Sheldon Belcher (Joanna), Lani Belcher; Great Grandchildren: Raelene Belcher (Trevor), Cam Belcher; and Great Great-Grandson Carson. Many Nieces and Nephews. Part of the family very important to him: Tony Belcher, Crystal & Shane Lillico, Pat & Eric Lyren, Gay Rand, Rita Thomas as well as many friends. The family is grateful to Vivian King, Pauline Shae, Dr. Tom, and Dr. Gerry <B> Farnsworth </B> for their friendship to Bill. Bill was born in Trochu, Alberta on December 7, 1916. The family had 11 children, all have preceded him, except for his older Brother Fred Radomske. Bill loved and enjoyed the large family that he was born into. He married Pauline Reister in 1936. His wife Pauline, passed away in 1967, and his daughter Marilyn passed away in 1991. In the 40's Bill and family moved from Alberta to Princeton, where he worked at Copper Mountain as an underground miner. In the mid 40's, he moved with his family to Summerland, B.C. to become an Orchardist growing fruit in the Okanagan. In the 50's, Bill moved his family to Settler, Alberta. From there he went to auctioneer school in Mason City, Iowa, and became an Auctioneer. In 1957, he moved to Kamloops with his family. He had many Auctions around the area. In the 60's, he started selling cattle for B.C. Livestock Co-op. He sold cattle in Kamloops, Quesnel, Williams Lake, Prince George, Merritt, OK Falls. He was with the Co-op for approximately 16 years. From there, he conducted many auctions in Alberta and Kamloops area. He also did many charity auctions for the Antique Car Club and the Kamloops Fish and Game Club. Bill was a part-time auctioneer into his 80's. He enjoyed his profession. In 2002, he was the first person inducted into the Association of British Columbians Auctioneer's Hall of Fame. Bill loved his cabin at Nicola Lake and would try to get out there as much as possible. He enjoyed his time with Pat & Eric and many lake friends. The family thanks his many friends that he met with for morning and afternoon coffee. They were very important in his life. The family would also like to thank the nurses and doctors of 6th North. There will be no service at his request. The family will have a Celebration of Life in the Summer
