DEBORAH VAN DEN HOOGEN 1950 - 2009 .After a short but full life, Deborah Van Den Hoogen (nee Nichol) succumbed to her battle with cancer on Friday, March 27, 2009. She has now earned her angel wings and is watching down on us. Born in Ottawa on July 22, 1950, predeceased by her daughter Dawn, sister Diane and mother Greta. She is survived by her loving husband Frank, devoted son Kevin, and her loyal sisters Rosemary and Linda, niece Corey, and her nephews Kirk, Dennis, Paul and Raven, and her two comforting cats, Sincha and Shada. Deborah was a very caring, loving and helpful minded person, volunteering her time to many of the local organizations in the communities where she lived. She was recognized many times for her involvement with these organizations. Along the way she has gained many cherished friends. The family would like to thank all of Deborah's coworkers, especially Catherine Guiguet and the Kamloops Hospice for their continued support and superb care. A Memorial Service will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Thompson Rivers University, in the Open Learning Building, Room127. A Memorial Service will also be held at the United Church, 3191 Riverside Dr., Ottawa Ontario, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, followed by interment at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Nepean, Ontario at 3:00 p.m. Donations in Deborah's name may be sent to the Kamloops Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
