Lieu de décès : Colombie Britannique, Canada

ALVIN REIMER With profound sadness in our hearts, we wish to announce the passing on August 21st of Alvin Reimer. He was born June 3, 1938 at Waldheim, Saskatchewan to John and Maria Reimer. He will be remembered by his wife Marlene, his children Brent (Reneé née Rusjan) and Nina Johnson (George) and his grandchildren Jonathan, Danny, Sophia and Benjamin. Also left to mourn his passing are his sister Violet Walde (Ben) and brother Mervin Reimer (Margaret), as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. Alvin was an honest and gentle man who loved to laugh. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with friends. He was an avid gamesman who liked the challenge of golf, was a keen 5-pin bowler and loved a lively game of cards or yahtzee with family and friends. He spent 18 years of his working life with the Saskatoon Co-op and 25 years with Sears in Kamloops. When he moved to Kamloops in 1975, he was delighted by the mild climate and the marvel of having fruit trees in the yard. Nevertheless, he was proud to be from Saskatchewan and always championed Tommy Douglas, the father of Medicare, for his courage, foresight and humanity. The family would like to thank nurse Beth in ICU for the gentleness and kindness she extended to Alvin and his family. A commemoration of Alvin's life will be held at Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul Street on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Suite 111 - 450 Lansdowne, Kamloops, BC, V2C 1Y3. .We cannot have back the days when we were together, but you will be with us forever. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, telephone 250-374-1454.
