Lieu de naissance : Colombie Britannique, Canada

Lieu de décès : Colombie Britannique, Canada

JACQUELINE (Jackie) JOANNA MARTIN. May 8, 1967 to July 31, 2009 .With her family by her side, Jackie at 42 years of age, of Kamloops, passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Jackie was born in North Vancouver but raised in North Surrey. Jackie took her training to be a nurse at Vancouver General Hospital. She became an RN and nursed at St. Paul's and Vancouver General Hospital. She worked at various disciplines, which included outpost nursing, teaching, and community care. Jackie only saw the person not their stature and that is what made her a great nurse. When Jackie wasn't working, you could find her fly fishing on the lake, heli-skiing, cross-country skiing on the local mountains and enjoying mountain biking. She enjoyed boating, water-skiing and camping with family and friends. She enjoyed swimming immensely. She did the "swim across the lake" in Kelowna twice and swam with the masters swim club. Her interest in swimming began when she was a Lifeguard at the Canada Games Pool in New Westminster. She was a great teacher and instructor. In more recent years, Jackie enjoyed playing guitar and special memories playing with her guitar group. Jackie had a zest for life and loved preparing meals for her family and friends. She liked trying new recipes that she found on the internet or a new recipe book. Always having a strong faith in God, Jackie attended the Sahali Fellowship Church. In her own words, "God had given her the gift of encouragement, the gift of helping others and the determination to lead her to where-ever he wanted her to go." On a hot summer night in 1988 Jackie met her soul mate, Leslie Martin on Long Beach on Vancouver Island. The crazy Scotsman stole her heart the moment she met him. Married for 19 years. They had a miracle baby, Naomi, now 10. Jackie will always be loved by her Parents, Karl and Betty Kist, her sister Marilyn (John and their daughter Emma). She will be missed by her colleagues, friends and extended family. Service will take place at Sahali Fellowship, 1565 Summit Drive, on Saturday August 8th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Crescent, Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9. Personal Alternative Funeral Services is in charge of funeral arrangements. A heart-felt thank you to all the friends, co-workers, hospice staff, Dr. Anderson and the Cancer Clinic, who supported our family through Jackie's prolonged illness
