It is with sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved mom, Irene. Born in Calgary, Alberta, on December 29th, 1925, she passed away peacefully at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops on August 10, 2012 at the age of 86.

Survived by husband Ken, children Maureen Warner (Dennis), Frank Wilson, and Donna Redekop (Dale); eight grandchildren Rebecca, Craig, Adam, Kenton, Kendra, Cameron, Mitchell, and Eva; two great grandchildren Jenna and Paige, one brother John, and dear friends.

Irene moved to Kamloops, with her family, in the year of 1939, and resided at Jimeva Farms in Valleyview. She and Ken were married during World War II. After the war, Irene and Ken returned to the family farm and raised their children. Throughout the years, Irene developed many loves including gardening, drawing, hiking in the Rockies, swimming, opera, and caring for her dogs. In Irene's retirement, her love of dogs extended to volunteering at the SPCA and opening her home to needy animals.

Many will remember her smiling face in the office of several local elementary schools where she carried out the duties of school secretary and library assistant. For her family, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and we will forever miss her kind spirit and beautiful smile. She will be in our hearts, always.
