SHIRLEY KOSTER Shirley Esther Marie Koster (Austin) was born at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in Vancouver on February 15, 1928. She passed away in Kamloops on June 25, 2009. She was the middle child of Eddie and Marie Austin and sister to Lois (Hellings) & David (deceased). Shirley attended Little Flower Academy, graduating at sixteen and an accredited teacher by twenty-one. She started teaching in 1949 in Ashcroft, where she met local rancher Jack Koster. They were married in November of that year, and moved to the ranch at Canoe Creek. They spent 58 years ranching and raising a family, David , Marie (Bolster), Warren, Matthew (deceased), Henry, Theresa (Williams), Ben, Ruth (Grinder) and their families including numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Reverend Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 29th, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mass will also be celebrated on Monday, June 29 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Paul's Canoe Creek Catholic Church in Canoe Creek, BC, followed by interment at Canoe Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 168 Briar Street, Kamloops, BC, V2B 1C1 in memory of Shirley would be appreciated.
