IRENE MARGARET WILSON (nee MONTALDI) JUNE 23, 1911 ~ MARCH 8, 2009 Irene "Margaret" Wilson of Kamloops passed away on March 8, 2009 at the age of 97 years. She is survived by her niece Ruth Montaldi of Sooke, B.C. and nephew Douglas Montaldi of Burns Lake, B.C. Margaret was born in England on June 23, 1911. She moved to Victoria in 1920 where she lived until starting her teaching career in 1930. Margaret was an alumni of the University of Victoria. After teaching in various parts of B.C., she came to Kamloops in 1945 where she continued to teach until her retirement in 1971. Margaret was active for many years with the Afternoon Auxiliary of R.I.H., Branch #61 of the Senior Citizens Association, the Kamloops Retired Teachers, the Over 60's Fellowship of the Salvation Army, the Happy Choristers, the Canadian Red Cross Society, and she was a charter member of the Lansdowne Drop-In Centre. She spent a lot of time visiting patients at R.I.H. and was well travelled with Wells Gray Bus Line. Special thanks to the staff at Pine Grove Extended Care for their loving care of Irene. A Celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Monday June 8th, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Canon Jack Phelps officiating.
