HOWARD LANOUE 1922 ~ 2009 Howard Lanoue of Barriere, BC, (formerly of Saskatchewan) passed away on May 22, 2009 at 88 years of age. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 66½ years Adrienne Lanoue, son Ron (Audrey) Lanoue of Barriere, BC, grandchildren Kathy (Andrew), Kimberly, and Joanne (Gary) all of Surrey, BC, and by his great grandchildren Matthew, Elizabeth, Natalie, Kevin, Michael, Alyssa and Caden, all of Surrey, BC, sisters Eva Stevenot of North Battleford, SK, and Gladys Cornet of New Westminster, BC, sister-in-law Jean Lanoue, nephews Fritz (Marie), Percy (Perry) and Brad (Laurie), nieces Sharon (Mike) and Shirley (Maurice) and too many more to list. He was predeceased by his son Larry Lanoue, and by his brothers Leo, Oscar and Raymond. Howard was born on a small farm in the district of Resby, not far from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, on December 6, 1922. He was the first-born of six siblings. He grew up in Saskatchewan and married his love, Adrienne Prudat, on October 30, 1943. After being conscripted into WWII and serving two years in the infantry, the war ended and Howard came home and started his family. After working various jobs around Saskatchewan, the family came to BC in 1949, starting in Fraser Mills where Howard worked until his retirement in 1979. After retirement Howard and Adrienne immigrated back to Meadow Lake in 1980. In 1990 they sold their home in Meadow Lake and moved to a seniors 2 bedroom apartment in North Battleford. In 2006, Howard and Adrienne migrated back to Barriere, BC to be closer to their son, Ron. In the last few months of Howard's life he moved to the Hamlets at Westsyde in Kamloops to be with his beloved wife of 66 years. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Hamlets at Westsyde Assisted Living. Visitation/Viewing will take place from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Friday, May 29, 2009 in the Rosewood Room at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 in St. George's Catholic Church, Barriere, BC, with Father O'Reilly, Celebrant.
