CHISHOLM (Lewis), Shirley Elaine – 87, Great Village, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at home. Born in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick, and raised in Sackville, New Brunswick, she was the last surviving child of the late Elroy and Josephine (Lister) Lewis. She attended schools in Sackville and also Mount Allison University. Shirley married Arthur Chisholm on August 20, 1946, and they lived in Halifax for many years before moving to Great Village where they lived in Arthur’s family home and later built a new home next door. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Arthur Frederick Chisholm; children, Richard (Maureen) Chisholm, Great Village; Nancy Chisholm (Hubert Smith), Fall River; Patricia (John) Isnor, Newport, Hants County; Alexander Chisholm (Tanya Sands), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Craig, Nicholas, Fiona, Jacqueline; four great grandchildren. Shirley was a member of St. James United Church, 47 Great Village –Lornevale Road, Great Village, where her funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012, Reverend Don MacQueen officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral service. Private family interment will be held in Mahon Cemetery, 8480 Highway 2, Great Village. If so desired, donations in Shirley’s memory to The Arthritis Society or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
