John's tremendous faith and his love of God were very important in his life. His love of family was also very evident in the many family gatherings that occurred where music, games (especially cards) and laughter were an integral part of these special times. His special joy was his grandchildren and his great grandchildren who nicknamed him "Grandpa the Great". John's other interests included playing the keyboard and the accordion, golfing (in which he was extremely proud of his six 'holes-in-one'), bowling and taking trips to Reno. Prayers will be recited on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Reverend Father Derrick Cameron will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at the cathedral on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. His family wishes to thank, in a special way, Father Derrick Cameron and the wonderful nurses who cared for Dad so compassionately and lovingly during his lengthy stay in Royal Inland Hospital. He will be sadly missed but forever remembered by his family and friends.
