Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Thursday, August 23, 2012, in the presence of her family, Elizabeth Whelan, age 72. Leaving with fond and loving memories her devoted husband of 47 years Patrick Whelan; sons Stephen (Veta), Kevin (Renee); daughters Claudette, Janet Kennedy (Jason), Dorothy McGrath; grandchildren Anthony Murphy (Krista), Crystal, Nathan, Jenny, Marshall, Christine, Emma, and Haylee; brothers Thomas Murphy (Betty) ON, Tony Murphy (Yvonne) NWT; sister-in-law Joan Murphy; special daughters Yvonne, Paula, Donna and Janet Harding and a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by son Rick Whelan; parents Thomas and Elizabeth Murphy; sisters Patricia Pearce, Mary Merner, Florence Murphy, Madonna (Chick) Minnett; brother John Murphy. A very special thank you to Doctors Azher and Missaghi and their teams, Charmaine Lane and the nursing staff of 7 West - your outstanding care and dedication are truly amazing and your kindness will never be forgotten. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 from 6:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 26th 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, August 27th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church, Waterford Bridge Rd. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Children's Wish Foundation.
