Dr. Arthur Joseph Godard D.V.M., born Debden, Saskatchewan July 13, 1924 passed away peacefully in Kamloops on April 20, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents Delphin and Aurore, brother Raymond and sister Marie. Left to mourn his passing, are his devoted wife of 55 years, Vivian, sons Raymond, Vincent (Janice), Michael, Joseph (Lidia) and daughters Delphine (Dennis) Rombough and Anita (Robert) Arnott, and his many grandchildren Nicolas, Tegan, Colette (Ryan), Jocelyn, Elizabeth, David, Marshall, Mary, Christine, Evan, Bradley, Valerie, Natalie, Marina, Elisa and great granddaughter Kyla. He is also survived by his brother George, sister Evelyn (Peter) Browne, brother-in-law Ray (Marj) Peltier and many other relatives and friends. Art attended school at Debden, St. Louis Convent and Mayview, Saskatchewan. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1943 and served overseas, returning to Canada in 1946. Later he attended Guelph Ontario Veterinary College graduating in 1951. Doctor Godard served the interior of BC in the Kamloops area for 27 years for the Federal Health of Animal Branch. During his years in Kamloops he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, chairman of K.C.P. Credit Union, Parish Council and other church organizations. His greatest devoted interests were his family and his vegetable garden. Prayers will be recited on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Parish, 2797 Sunset Drive. The Reverend Father Dale Normandeau will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at the church on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The family would like to thank Father Derrick Cameron, Dr. Haugen, Home Care Support and the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home. Should friends desire, donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent S, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9 or the St. Ann's Academy Building Fund, 205 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 2S7 in memory of Arthur would be appreciated.
