SCOTT, MERLE JANET - The passing of Merle Janet Scott of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Norman Scott, occurred on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at York Care Centre. Born on February 22, 1917 in Parker’s Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late George MacLennan and Florence (Calhoun) McElwee. She was a member of Bloomfield United Church. Merle is survived by her daughter, Muriel Nightingale of Fredericton, NB; sons, Merlyn (Alice) Scott of Fredericton, NB, Lawrence (Duane) of Vancouver, BC and King (Ellen) Scott of London, ON; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Exa (Willard) MacAllister of Boiestown, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Minnie Goodine, Hattie Billings and Agnes Green; brother, Harold MacLellan.
There will be no visitation or service by request. A graveside service will take place in Bloomfield United Church Cemetery at a later date.
