At the Highbourne Life Care Centre, Toronto, on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, of Joseph Walter Doucette, formerly of Tignish, P.E.I., age 80 years. Born on Aug. 20, 1929, he was the son of the late George I. and Catherine (nee Gaudet) Doucette. He is survived by his children, Diane, Cathy and Anne Marie, all of Calgary, and Junior of Toronto. He is also survived by the mother of his children Emelia (Jones) Doucette. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Joe (Doreen) of Montreal; Valmore of Charlottetown; Gerald (deceased) (Theresa) of Tignish; Stella (the late Roger) Laramee Doucette of Montreal; Delima (late George) Wadman of Kensington; Theresa (late Bruce) Yates of Central Bedeque; Mary (Jackie) Marks of Montreal; Rosanna (Johnny) Blanchard of Tignish; and Josephine (Phillip) Arsenault of Nail Pond. Also left to mourn is his aunt, Celina Arsenault of Nail Pond. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law Caroline Jones. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in the church cemetery. If so desired memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery fund would be greatly appreciated.
