It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Donna, which occurred at home on Friday, August 31, 2012.
Born December 19, 1919 at home, she was the eldest daughter of the late Duncan and Eliza (MacKay) MacGregor.
Donna lived and worked in Sydney as a secretary to the late Dr. Neil MacNeil for 35 years (Department of Health). After retiring in Jan of 1985, she returned home to Scotsville. She enjoyed an active life. Donna was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Sydney as well as a member of the Guild and the Women's Missionary Society.
Donna is survived by her brother, Chris MacGregor of Scotsville as well as nieces, nephews, grand nephews, grand nieces, great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews. She is also survived by special cousins Myrtle MacDougall and Muntaz Schombara.
She was predeceased by brother, Neil; sisters, Annie and Aggie; nephew Ian and sister-in-law Jessie.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday, September 2nd, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 3rd, 2012 in Alexander Grant United Church, East Lake Ainslie with Rev Louis Ihasz celebrating. Burial to follow in Lake Ainslie Cemetery.
Donations in Donna's memory may be made to Lake Ainslie Presbyterian Building Fund, Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to a charity of choice.
