Passed away in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Edward P. “Ted” Noel of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 89 years. Retired CN Employee. Predeceased by wife Mabel; daughter Beverley; parents George and Gertrude, brother LeRoy, sister Ina, sisters-in-law Peggy Cayer, Florence Noel, Dot Noel and Marie Noel, brother-in-law James Butt. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Glenys (Dennis) Flanders, Watertown, Connectuit and Gertrude “Gee” (Edward “Ned”) Dwyer, Carbonear; two sons: Roland (Eve), Tewksbury, Massachusetts and David (Elizabeth “Betty”), Freshwater, Carbonear; twelve grandchildren: Aaron, Deana, Daniel, Paul, Laura, Jane, Noel, Christian, Justin, Valerie, Beverley and Jason; ten great-grandchildren; four brothers: Joseph (Emma), Carbonear, Leslie (Lillian), St. John’s, Leyton “Pat” (Betty), Freshwater, Carbonear and Gilbert (Gillian), Carbonear; one sister Thelma (James) Fitzpatrick, St. John’s; brothers-in-law: John (Ruby) Butt, Freshwater, Carbonear and John Cayer, Trenton, ON; sisters-in-law: Daphne (Bruce) Abbott, Harbour Grace, Cecily (Alec) Bishop, Halifax, NS and Lillian Butt, Victoria, also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Friday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Freshwater United Church Cemetery Fund.
