Yolanda Melanson
MELANSON, YOLANDA - (1923 - 2012) - Yolanda Melanson passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2012 at The Moncton Hospital. Being a woman of strong faith, she was at peace with God, family, and friends and she accepted her illness gracefully with much courage. Yolanda’s love for her family was unconditional. Family and friends alike will fondly remember her devotion. She was the wife of the late Yvon Melanson (2002); born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Jack Murphy and the late Aurélie Leger; Prior to her retirement, she enjoyed a fulfilling career with C.N.R, Marine Atlantic retiring from VIA Rail in 1982. Yolanda is survived her daughter Josette Horsman (Kim) of Victoria, two sons J.P. (Raylene) of Moncton and Robert of Vancouver, BC; six grandchildren: Michelle, Patricia, Derek, Monica, Nicholas, Sarah; two great grandchildren: Julia, Aidan and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Terrance (Terry) Murphy (late Audrey) and many close extended family members.
By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Louis-de-France R.C. Church, 5 Pleasant Street, Moncton on Tuesday, September 4th at 11 a.m. Father Paul Breau officiating. Interment will be in the Shediac Road Cemetery, Moncton.
